NPR, Muslims, & Christians…Oh my!

No Catholic, Presbyterian, or unaffiliated congregant of the Assemblies of God will ever cut off your head for drawing a cartoon of Jesus. Many, many muslims would should you draw a cartoon of Mohammed. The fear of muslims within the secular left is why the media could be fully fixated on one preacher in Florida burning korans and avoid like the plague the other very legitimate story that we share the Earth with a large group of people who can be incited to global violence by one moron in Florida burning a book.

And this all gets us to the most significant truth — also the one that will offend a great many people, but still needs to be said.

The most significant truth is that had Juan Williams made his comments about Christians or Jews he would still have his job. The world is at war with Christ and, more generally, the Judeo-Christian God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Islam, derived from a man of this world, and the world are in supernatural alliance against Christ. This is the moment non-believers laugh and believers nod knowingly.

The secular world hates the real God of the Bible and those who follow Christ. Any group that is not of Christ or allied with Christ is spared by the world because it is of the world. Any group of Christ or allied with Christ is fair game for attack and ridicule.

Christians are aliens in this world and ultimately, on the last day, win. But until then, the world hates them.

It is a truth that we should all remember.   -Erick Erickson–

For years, I’ve been saying the same thing.  A few days ago, Juan Williams, NPR associate and anchor, was fired for expressing some of his feelings, fears, and views.  Whether you agree or not, should he have lost his job?  Afterall, isn’t he too, a liberal by most accounts, under the freedoms we all share in this wonderful United States of America.

Here’s what Williams said: (on Fox with Bill O’Reilly)

“I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil-rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

Is that blaming all Muslims for the actions of a few extremists? Sure. But Williams was describing his feelings, not saying that Muslims should be singled out for profiling or otherwise discriminated against.

So watch the media squirm and shake when Muslims are singled out.  BUT, run ads about Christine O’Donnell from Delaware trying to demean her for, well, NOT even being a witch.  She’s a Christian being painted as this wacko!  And, how about the pastor from Florida who was sounding the alarm for burning the Muslim’s holy book. He was labeled a menace to society.  And I see that point, however,  the point is that there’s no media outrage over the Muslim world proclaiming death to the infidel (all of us who aren’t Muslim).

YET, the media sees no reason we should have any apprehension about placing a mosque at Ground Zero.  They see no reason why we should label terrorists as terrorists.  AND, if by definition that represents Muslim extremist, we’re not supposed to say it!

Let’s stop all this political fluff and call this what it really is and be real.  Christian’s and conservative values are being squelched and squashed while the devil and all his forms are being tolerated.  It’s the war of  the worlds.  The war of ideologies.  The clash of good vs. evil.  The battle for man’s soul.   And, Armageddon creeps one day closer!

Thank God He’s still on the throne!

To War or Not To War

Speaking at “hallowed ground” at the Pentagon, President Barack Obama alluded to the controversy over a mosque — and a Florida pastor’s threat, later rescinded, to burn copies of the Muslim holy book. Obama made it clear that the U.S. is not at war with Islam and called the al-Qaida attackers “a sorry band of men” who perverted religion.

“We will not give in to their hatred,” Obama said. “As Americans, we will not or ever be at war with Islam.”

Though I agree with Obama in saying the attackers are a “sorry band of men”, I think the rest of his quote is proof positive that our POTUS doesn’t believe we’re at war in this world.  As the Christian he says he is, he should know that Christianity and Islam do not mix.  One follows the living God and the other is subservient to Mohammad and Allah.

We are at war.

It’s a war of ideologies.

It’s not always about flesh and blood.  (See Ephesians 6:12)

It’s the war of the worlds.

It’s good vs. evil.

It’s God vs. Satan.

It’s time we admit that we have an adversary, the devil, who wishes to deceive and to destroy us any way he can. He walks about as a lion  trying to devour those whom he may! (See 1 Peter 5:8)

I say step up men and women around the world and boldly proclaim the name of Jesus!  There’s no other name by which man may be saved.  (See Acts 4:12)

This so-called religion of peace, Islam, instructs its believer to route the enemy, the infidel, by almost any means necessary.  If you aren’t a Muslim…you are the adversary! Period!

So, yes, we’re at war.  And from what I can see, even if we talk peace, until Christ returns and establishes His rule and reign for all eternity, we’ll be at war.  The war of the worlds rages on!

Personally Speaking – A Longing For Heaven

“Be assured that just as an hour is only part of a day, so life on Earth is only part of eternity.–C.L. Allen

Today I’ve been once again thinking about legacy of Irene Chisenhall.  She really, truly, was a godly woman.   Her heartbeat the beat of heaven.

From the time she’d awake in the morning until she was again blanketing down for a night of rest, she would allow the things of God to occupy her time and her mind.

Her life was 86 years long.  From our limited perspective, 86 years seems like a good, long life.  And, rightly so considering the average age of man is near the mid 80’s.

But seriously, did she really have long life?  When observed from the scope of eternity, Irene Chisenhall’s life was but a breath, a vapor.  A semi-milli-blink of an eye.  An almost snap of the fingers.  From the eyes of eternity, her life was the span of the beginning of a next thought.  It was too quick to measure.

I’ve been reviewing her thoughts on heaven.  She longed for heaven. Her only desire was to occupy the space where the Lord had placed here on earth and dream of one day going to heaven. Her only goal was to make it to heaven.  Her mission. Her ambition.  Her very life was spent to be sure when her name was called, heaven would be her home.

That’s passion, my friends!  That’s being in love with Jesus.  That’s devotion!

My heart longs for heaven today.  This world is becoming more vile by the minute.  Evil is afoot at every turn.  Our society is moving further and further away from the heart of God.  Mankind is becoming a god unto himself.  And, I desire great things for my life and for my eternal soul.  I want heaven.

Who wouldn’t want to go to heaven?  Why wouldn’t we, at the deepest part of hearts and souls, get a little homesick for heaven?  What does this world really have to offer?  It offers nothing…because it’s like a passing fad.  It’s here today and in “that” moment in time, will be burned into oblivion.

As I write, I desire my life to be lived with heaven in mind.  We have a heaven to gain and a hell to shun.  We’re called by God to live for Him here, so that we may enter into the joy of His kingdom when He calls us home.  And for that eternal home, I am becoming more and more keenly in love with being called to heaven.

The apostle Paul says it well in his letter to the Philippians.  It resonates with me.

For me to live is Christ, to die is gain – Philippians 1:21

As I live out my days may they be full of the peace of Christ and His salvation.  And at life’s end heaven is where my soul will find its forever-rest and eternal joy…

I’ll be with my Lord Jesus Christ!

A Good Thought On Evil

Before you think I’ve gone off into the deep end, here some of my thoughts surrounding the idea of evil.  They are seperate thoughts, let me clarify that up front.

First, for Evil to exist, we must have it’s counter position in view as well, namely, Good.   If there is no Good, then Evil is really all there is and would only be called It. How Good is known will be discussed more in another entry.

So I pose the question, do you beleive in Evil? If so, why?  If not, why?  And if not, do you believe in Good?

Secondly, so often we overlook Evil in our world. We’ve become so desensitized to Evil, that we’ve come to accept it and even perhaps embrace it.

For example:  I just finished reading a book by Ted Dekker called, Adam.  The book deals with some very serious human condition issues.  As not to ruin it for those who haven’t read it, just know he embellishes greatly and very factually with Evil.  Each page leads to a wonderfully amazing ending and equally as daunting and mind-bending.

Dekker uses “smack dab in your face” Evil.  The kind that we’d all look at and know it was just so Evil.  No questions.  That’s important to recognize, but often so obvious that we’d usually all see it happening.

Evil’s biggest threats are it’s ability to be almost imperceptible.  To seem camoflaged and non-existent.

Let’s look at some of those examples.  They’ll seem nitpicky.  You’ll think perhaps I’m going overboard, but seriously consider what I’m saying.

Little White Lies – Evil!

Gossip and slander -Evil!

Gluttony -Evil!

Dressing too seductively-Evil!

Cheating & Stealing -Evil!

The list could go on and on.  What I’m pointing out is that Evil is all around us and yet we don’t refer to it as Evil.  No wonder our youth in this country seem to be so lost.  Most of them are not being told about the content or the context of Evil.

If we don’t address the small “Evil’s” in our lives they grown in to larger and larger Evil’s. Why wait until then…address those areas in your life that have become full of “Evil”.

No matter how small…addressing Evil is always significant.

That’s my two cents input on Evil.
